This restaurant right next to TCU is closing after ‘four wonderful years’

A fan favorite restaurant close to TCU has closed its doors.

The Jon’s Grille on Berry Street has ceased operation, owner Jon Bonnell announced Saturday in a statement on Facebook.

“Dear Fort Worth Friends, Family, and TCU community, After four wonderful years, we’ve made the difficult decision to close Jon’s Grille,” Bonnell wrote.

My biggest disappointment with Jon's Grille is that they did not serve the Carlson's Bacon Cheeseburger like the original Jon's Grille did. I am glad Mr. Bonnell is doing better after his cancer battle.

JG was too expensive and BBs is getting that way too. I live a few minutes away and used to go all the time. Now, it's just a pre-game stop for baseball and basketball games. Plus, the construction sucks. Sad.

As a former employee of the ORIGINAL Jon's Grille, this somehow feels like the universe correcting itself (a separate, more ethereal feeling from the fact that I don't like seeing locally owned businesses fail)
