One year later and just about everything was the same, including the final result.

For the second consecutive year TCU played the final game in the round of 32 of the NCAA Tournament out west against a higher seed on Sunday night.

For the second consecutive year TCU had the lead in the second half. For the second consecutive year, TCU couldn’t hold that lead and lost an exciting game it could have won.

last year's eddie, that would be a different story, this year's post injury eddie, fouls out in no time.

Even if all Lampkin added was 5 fouls that weren't called on other guys, it would have helped. Perhaps Timme would have expended just a little more energy, and the other guys could have defended a little more aggressively late in the game with fewer fouls on them.

Or Timme could have picked up a couple of fouls. He got away with several that weren't called, including a big arm hook under the basket for a score.

In his last five games, EL scored 11 points (including 1-5 FTs) and totaled 10 fouls. He was so out of shape that he could not run down the court two times without fouling someone. Few would have called for pick and roll after pick and roll for Timme. Then he would have gotten him the ball at the top of the key and Timme would have driven right by big fat Eddie.

We lost because we were 12-20 FTs including a 2-6 stretch on 3 straight possessions in the second half. It would have been worse if EL had played because the Zags would have fouled him any time he was a threat to score. I am so scheissing tired of listening to how EL would have been the difference maker for us. The AZ game was a long, long time ago and EL underachieved all year long. The last time he scored in double figures was on Jan. 14th against KSU and he did not grab 10+ rebounds in any league game.

We did not lose because EL - who will be known as the biggest quitter in TCU history - was back in Texas. We lost because we missed too many FTs, had some questionable calls go against us and because O'Bannon took more shots than Miles.

Cork, Doumbia, and Lampkin! Three big bodies to rotate in the middle would have helped against Timme.Five more tough fouls to give. Not having Lampkins big body really did make a difference.

Cork finished with 2 fouls on 14 minutes & Doumbia had 3 fouls in 4 minutes. They couldn’t stop Timme & neither would have EL. CJD wouldn’t play them in the second half & could have. Coles & Peavy fouled out & Miller had 3 fouls.

Its odd that a player like EL wouldn't be working on his craft and staying in shape so that he could get a shot in the pros. But that's probably the problem with NIL for colleges. Professional teams probably like it because they get to see how players with contracts perform.

Lampkin didn’t have much shot at pro basketball. He could have been a solid contributor at the college level. When injury prevents you from practicing you shouldn’t play. He got out of game condition.
