The TCU women's basketball team has a chance to pick up its first Big 12 conference victory tonight, but against No. 16 Oklahoma, it won't be easy.
Despite losing All-America candidate and Fort Worth native Whitney Hand to season-ending knee injury, Oklahoma junior guard Aaryn Ellenberg has carried the offensive load, averaging a team-high 17.9 points per game. Ellenberg has hit more than 40 percent of her shots from the field and from 3-point range this season.
TCU's zone defense will also have its hands full with 6-foot-6 center Nicole Griffin, who pulls down 4.8 rebounds a game and is second on the team in scoring with 11.4 points a game.
TCU comes into the game after a heartbreaking loss at Kansas State in the final seconds.
Latricia Lovings comes off her second career double-double, 16 points and 16 rebounds, but she will be challenged in the post by Griffin.
Oklahoma leads the all-time series between the schools 12-3.
