TCU knows how crippling home losses can be. So Frogs won’t overlook Indiana State

BY DREW DAVISON

The TCU men’s basketball team had its most impressive week with a road win over SMU and a “neutral site” victory over USC at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Those wins, though, resulted in TCU getting just four more votes in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll. Losing at home to Lipscomb last month remains a sore spot for TCU.

“Those take a while to overcome [in the polls],” TCU coach Jamie Dixon said. “Home losses are big and you can’t have them. That’s what we’re well aware of.”

A couple of other points of order. How awful is the PAC 12 this year? Arizona loses at home to Baylor and USC gets stomped by OU last night.

SMU looked pretty good in their win over Georgetown yesterday, that could end up being a pretty good OOC win for us if the ponies can keep it rolling.

Just to expand how bad the Pac-12 is, UCLA lost at home to Belmont, Cal beat a 3-6 Cal Poly by 1, and ranked ASU beat a 5-4 UGA team by 2. That should be a two bid league at most IMO

I think all of this is why the USC coach was calling our game a must wi
He knows their league is weak and he would need to be top 2-3 AND beat the good OOC teams to be taken seriously for the tournament

Pac-12 only got one team in the 64 team field last year(Arizona) and none to the 2nd round. No excuse as to why teams like Washington are so bad, especially with the Seattle area recruiting hotbed they are in. Gonzaga beats them for recruits which shouldn't happen

Anyway I expect us to not have much trouble with Indiana State. I was surprised they kept Greg Lansing around for this year(thought he was gone after last year) but its clear they are trying to build up the core around Jordan Barnes before letting him go.
