TCU leading rusher Kevorian Barnes will miss the regular-season finale against Cincinnati, head coach Sonny Dykes announced Tuesday.

It will be the third straight game Barnes has missed. He hasn’t played since TCU’s 20-17 loss to Iowa State on Nov. 8.

Barnes suffered a lower-body injury against Abilene Christian on Sept. 13 and has struggled with the injury most of the season. The closest Barnes got to being 100% was against Baylor on Oct. 18 when he rushed for 106 yards and two touchdowns in the Horned Frogs’ 42-36 win.

Another year of Walmart Fire Sale RBs.
This staff talks about the importance of running the football; but never makes a serious attempt at buying a legit proven/healthy RB.

The top 4 teams in the Big12, Texas Tech, BYU, Utah, & ASU all average greater than 194 rushing per game and they all rush the ball more than 50% of the time. That’s a winning recipe’.

TCU: Averages 13th in B12 rushing yards & 15th in rushing attempts.

You think that’s because of the running backs? I don’t.

Does Barnes have the history of being injury prone? Assuming this season is a fluke on that front, I think he is exactly who we needed.

Is it too late to get a refund on the snow room? Seems like it doesn't work well on lower body injuries. Lemmermann missed the whole year and now Barnes will have missed the last 3.

Yes, very. The only season he wasn’t injury prone was basically his first season at UTSA. After that he pretty much missed a lot of time each season since due to injuries. Was hoping he was past that but obviously not.

Probably because they are protecting leads in the 4th quarter.

That should have been a huge red flag to this staff.

The RB referenced in the article has to decide how much he wants it.
Maybe so, but I think the other RBs we have are at least serviceable. I haven’t watched a game yet this year where I thought, if only we had a better RB. And it’s not like Barnes is that great, he’s not much different than the others IMO.

If only we could have someone like the leading rusher in the NCAAs on our roster...

Agreed. The young back has shown to be better. Take away the big run and UNC and not sure Barnes is so much better.
