TCU football started the weekend by landing a much-needed cornerback out of the transfer portal Friday morning.
Central Michigan cornerback Kalen Carroll committed to the Horned Frogs and will bring experience to a position that struggled at times last season.
Carroll, a graduate transfer, had 52 tackles, two interceptions and seven pass breakups this season.
Carroll, a 6-foot-1, 185-pounder from Indianapolis, began his career at Cincinnati, where he started four games in 2023 and 10 games in 2024. He finished the 2024 season with 19 tackles (13 solo), two tackles for loss and a pass breakup.
Carroll will join a cornerback room that features returning starter Vernon Glover Jr. and promising true freshman Gil Jackson, who made one of the key defensive plays in TCU’s Alamo Bowl win over USC on Dec. 30.
