TCU football does not have NFL Draft pick for first time since 2008

BY DREW DAVISON

The Big 12 was shut out of the first round of the NFL Draft. TCU football was shut out all together.

The Horned Frogs didn’t have a player selected for the first time since the 2008 draft.

Obinna Eze, the Frogs’ left tackle, was the best option, but he didn’t hear his name called over the weekend.

Didn't have many seniors this year, and our record also showed that we didn't have the talent as well. Fairly indicative of where our program was heading.

should have had more seniors though and that was a big part of the problem

the 2017 class included 24 signees, 5 of those were jucos so they were long gone before this year leaving 19 potential 5th year seniors.

here comes the ugly part as 8 of those transferred out of the program leaving 11 and 1 of those left early for the nfl in reagor. among the 10 remaining you have 1 guy who played 4 years and left for the nfl in wallow and 4 guys whose careers got derailed because injuries in bethley, wes harris, mike o and noah daniels. there are three guys who project to be on the 2022 roster from this class in ellis cooper and daniels

2018 is the REALLY ugly year as that should be your seniors and 4th year juniors. 24 signees and 13 have left the program combined with 2 juco's and 2 players who left for the nfl in moehrig and washington.

22 potential seniors and 4th year juniors and only 7 were still with the program with 1 of those lanz being hurt most of his first 2-3 years on campus

from this group the frogs are looking to return this fall barber, davis avilla, dike, ceasar, and demarcado.

2019 is a class that could have had someone leave early for the nfl, had 27 players sign. 5 have left the program and there was 1 juco so they still return 21 players from this class.

4 of that 21 have played alot of football in max, coker, winters and hodges.

this is also a big mystery class as bulk of the remaining kids just haven't played much for a variety of reasons. some such as barkley, stewart, and williams had injuries. the others? who knows...

Maybe the old groundskeeper who used to live in the apartment under the east stands and come out and yell at us when we snuck in to play a drunk game of touch football?
A professional geezer yelling, “hey you kids, get off my lawn”. Now that’s the job for me,
