TCU football’s first opponent puts defensive coordinator on medical leave​

TCU and UNC and preparing to square off in Ireland in both team’s college football season opener and the Tar Heels will be without defensive coordinator Steve Belichick.

Belichick is going on medical leave, the team’s head coach Bill Belichick told media on Wednesday. The father and son duo both arrived at UNC together last season and had a rough first season that started with a 48-14 loss to TCU.

The elder Belichick did not give a reason for his son’s medical leave, nor say when he could return.

SXM College Sports Radio went over some of the issues this morning.

This is the fault of their big money guys. The AD that was there when the money guys demanded Mack be pushed out actually wanted to hire Jeff Monken. He was top on Bubba Cunningham's list. Sumrall was on list, but Cunnigham let it be known he wanted Monken. Then then the money guys start pushing for a pro coach who, in spite of having 6 rings, had no interest from any other pro squad even with his name put out there by his agent.

All that said, I saw video of one of the tar heel qb's. looked sharp ... in drills. Meanwhile, USC just lost their starting center for the year. non contact leg injury.
