TCU whipped host Houston 12-2 on Sunday, completing a sweep of the Cougars.

Jason Coats hit three home runs and went 3 for 5 with four RBIs for the Horned Frogs (23-7).

Aaron Schultz went 3 for 5 with three RBIs, including a three-run home run in the second inning. Bryan Holaday went 2 for 4 with two RBIs and had a two-run homer in the eighth.

Steven Maxwell ran his record to 5-0 by giving up three hits and one run in six innings. TCU pitchers gave up only four runs in the three-game series.

Coats is the first TCU player to hit three home runs in a game since Austin Adams did it on April 23, 2005 at Charlotte.

This was the first time that TCU had swept a series in Houston.

Schultz has hit three home runs this season, all in Houston.

TCU hosts Texas A&M at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Big 12 baseball

Texas 10, Kansas 4: Kevin Lusson hit a grand slam and knocked in five runs in helping the Longhorns (26-7, 10-2 Big 12) complete a sweep of the visiting Jayhawks (19-13-1, 3-5-1).

The Longhorns hold a commanding lead in the Big 12 standings. Following Texas is Kansas State at 6-3, followed by Texas A&M at 6-5-1.

Texas Tech 5, Oklahoma State 3: Scott LeJeune hit a three-run home run in the ninth inning, leading the visiting Red Raiders (17-18, 6-6) to a comeback victory over the Cowboys (18-12, 3-6). Texas Tech scored four runs in the last two innings.

Baylor 2, Texas A&M 1: Four pitchers combined on a five-hitter and Gregg Glime hit a run-scoring double in the seventh inning, leading the host Bears (19-11, 5-5) over the Aggies (20-10-1, 6-5-1).

Missouri 12, Oklahoma 11: The visiting Tigers (18-13, 3-6) scored eight runs in the fifth inning on the way to beating the Sooners (25-7, 5-5) in a slugfest. Aaron Senne's solo home run in the eighth inning was the winning hit.
