TCU baseball coach explains the ejection that led to his stroll & ‘viral moment’

Muck Angle

Kirk Saarloos’ best impression of a snail was intentional, but he had no desire to create one of those “viral” moments, which he did.

The TCU baseball coach wanted an explanation from an umpire, which he said he never received, which led to his ejection from TCU’s game at Oklahoma State on Saturday night in Stillwater.

The result was a funny scene of Saarloos retreating to TCU’s dugout, where he grabbed his leather briefcase, and then had to make the journey to the visitor’s clubhouse, which is located behind the left-field wall at O’ Brate Stadium. The video clip of Saarloos casually strolling from the TCU dugout all the way to the left-field door quickly went viral.

Would love a report or something that shows exactly what they saw on the replay screen that gave them positive proof to overturn the call on the field. Any angle clearly show the foot getting under the tag? Any angle clearly show that the runner did not ever come off the bag thru the slide while Bell kept the tag applied? (Same would be said had they called him safe on the field. Just don’t think there was anything definitive either way.)

Interesting comparisons of the ACC and SEC replay systems. Don’t think I realized ours was so limited relative to those for baseball. Would be nice to see that gap get closed a bit

Was I supposed to type something here?
Why do I often get that Inigo Montoya moment when dealing with BIGXII officials? I keep hearing "clear, definitive, indisputable" and yet, they keep telling us, like Max's Game Winning TD against Baylor, that they saw something that they can't explain and therefore, we lose. Evidently, those words do not mean what I think they mean...

Every sporting event should have a pool official, umpire, referee available for the media after the game.

At least, this should be done for NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL games.

A terrible decision to overturn the call on the field. Pathetic.
