TCU guard Desmond Bane, who averaged 7.1 points per game for the Horned Frogs’ team that won the 2017 NIT championship, is one of 25 players chosen to attend the USA Under-19 World Cup Team training camp June 18-25 in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Kentucky coach John Calipari will lead the team, with six assistants from other college programs in the mix. Calipari made his selections Thursday, with Bane the lone player chosen from a college in Texas. The only other Big 12 selection was Kansas guard Charlie Moore.

Bane, a native of Richmond, Ind., played in all 39 of TCU’s games last season as a freshman and made 13 starts. He led the team in three-point shooting percentage (.380) and provided the winning margin in a season-defining, 85-82 upset of top-ranked Kansas during the Big 12 conference tournament by sinking three consecutive free throws with two seconds remaining in the contest.
