SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Gary Patterson famously reads daily clippings about his team and his opponent. He's mentioned it often over the years and again this morning during his Buffalo Wild Wings press conference at the JW Marriott Camelback Inn Resort and Spa.

He read something that raised an eyebrow early this morning and addressed it early during his remarks.

You are overestimating the Midwestern mind. They really believe that, as much as they believe chili was originally only with beans (I am a personal witness to that belief).

It's like calling an A&M person "Texas" to an A&M-er that's a dis.

To anyone normal in the real world, being mistaken as UT is an UPGRADE as to be confused as an A&M-type being.

Better academics, sports, logo, people, location, athletic conference, etc. if you're from UT.

Mich State is in a similar disadvantage to UofMichigan. They SHOULD be FLATTERED.

A Wisconsin fan asked me "Where in Tennessee is TCU?" on the bus back to the hotel AFTER the Rose Bowl.

The on-the-field speed isn't the only thing slow about the B1G.
