FWST: Patterson says reshuffled LB crew played hard against Arkansas

TCU coach Gary Patterson said his linebacker tandem of Sammy Douglas and Ty Summers, who started together in the Arkansas game, “played hard” against the Razorbacks and figure to get considerable playing time Saturday against Iowa State. Patterson confirmed that linebacker Montrel Wilson, who took treatment during the Arkansas for an apparent leg injury, will not play in this week’s Big 12 opener against the Cyclones (11 a.m., FS1).
 
That puts Douglas, who had 17 tackles against Arkansas, and Summers, who had 10 tackles, in the mix with Travin Howard for the two starting spots in the team’s 4-2-5 alignment. Howard, the team’s top tackler last season, started in the season opener against South Dakota State.
