NORMAN, Okla. -- TCU had put together two weeks of superb baseball, going 7-0 with two series sweeps and a win over Big 12 power Texas A&M. If only the Horned Frogs could keep the Oklahoma Sooners off the schedule.

Danny Black drove in four runs with a double and home run to lead Oklahoma over TCU 8-3 on Tuesday at L. Dale Mitchell Park.

The loss snaps the Horned Frogs' seven-game winning streak, a stretch that began after TCU lost at home to Oklahoma 4-2 on April 6. The Sooners have beaten the Frogs six consecutive games, dating to April 2007.

During their winning streak the Frogs added excellent defense to solid pitching and timely hitting. But Tuesday against the Sooners, the Frogs committed two errors (both in the third inning) and had another misjudged ball in center that led to extra opportunities for Oklahoma. It was the first two-error game for TCU since April 2.

And the Sooners took full advantage of the gifts.

The Sooners (27-10) scored their first run in the third when Caleb Bushyhead singled with two outs. Bushyhead advanced to third on Black's roller through the legs of second baseman Jerome Peña. Catcher Bryan Holaday tried to get Bushyhead with a pickoff at third, but third baseman Jantzen Witte wasn't ready and the ball sailed into left allowing Bushyhead to score easily.

"We've been playing well, I think we'll continue to play well," said TCU coach Jim Schlossnagle, whose club resumes conference play against UNLV on Friday at Lupton Stadium. "Oklahoma just has our number. It's just one of those things, I guess."

Oklahoma scored five runs in the fourth inning as it batted around with five hits. The rally started with Max White's one-out triple, which Aaron Schultz lost in the lights and let drop behind him near the warning track. Cameron Seitzer homered to right on the next pitch to give the Sooners a 3-2 lead. It was Seitzer's first hit in his last 13 at-bats. Paul Gerrish walked Ricky Eisenberg and allowed a bunt single to Bryan Groth before striking out Chris Ellison for the second out. Greg Holle, who had pitched well in 12/3 innings at BYU, came in to face the top of the Sooner's order. But Bushyhead drove in a run with a single through the left side and Black doubled down the left-field line to drive in two more and give Oklahoma a 6-2 lead.

"Gerrish wasn't gassed," Schlossnagle said. "But Holle threw really well out of the bullpen this weekend and we just wanted to see if he could do it again, but it didn't work out."

Gerrish (1-3) was stuck with the loss after allowing five runs (four earned) in 32/3 innings. Gerrish was also the loser in a tough-luck outing against the Sooners two weeks ago.

Holaday got a run back in the fifth with a solo homer to left, his seventh (including two in a suspended game earlier in the season). But TCU didn't take advantage of two more baserunners. After Jason Coats singled to center and Josh Elander walked against starter Ryan Gibson, the Sooners brought in Michael Rocha to face Taylor Featherston with one out and Rocha got Featherston swinging and forced Peña to pop out to third to end the inning. Rocha (5-1) got the win with 42/3 scoreless innings of relief.

"The difference in the game was the bottom of the fourth to the top of fifth," Schlossnagle said. "In the fourth, they scored three runs with two outs, and in the top of the fifth Rocha made pitches when he had to make pitches."

The Frogs took a 2-0 lead with runs in the first and third innings.

"I'm irritated because we lost, but I don't think we played that bad," Schlossnagle said. "We kicked the ball around and they got the timely hits and we didn't. I'm hoping this is just a bump in the road."
