FWST: New South Carolina athletic director addresses if TCU remains a ‘stepping stone’ school

Long ago, when Randy Galloway was still at the S-T, he told muck that one of the secrets to his success was to first and always piss off Jerruh and the Plowboys staff. Which worked, exceedingly well, because there are and have always been, so many fans ready to hear bad news about an inept owner/GM and a bunch of ridiculously overpaid jocks. What muck failed to understand in trying to imitate Gallo is that unlike an NFL franchise's fandom, a college's fan following isn't constantly on the lookout to find reasons to [ Finebaum ] on their team. That, more than his subpar writing skills, his constant lack of accuracy, and near-guaranteed errors in Grammar, Spelling, and Punctuation, is what makes him, and his writing, so reliably cringe-worthy.
He'd be wise to invest in Grammarly.

Have we discussed the possibility of ADGP?
GP made it abundantly clear last week that he still has Xs and Os in his blood stream!! There may be a time in his future when he prefers AD work to the grind of being a D1 HC. That's what he truly loves in my opinion.

I thought Morrison was really good. Would have been interested to see what he would have done with a longer tenure. Was CDC next? He was of course awesome.

Donati might have been good. Have no idea. Not an insider, don't work there and don't live nearby so no fact base to say. I will say that at least early in his tenure everything about him seemed performative. He tried responding to fans in a manner similar to CDC and it came across to me as snarky and smug.

I don't know either, but something tells me if he was that bad South Carolina would not have offered him a 6-year contract that averages $2,150,000/year. It usually doesn't work that way.

I think he was probably a pretty good AD that some people didn't like, and were never going to like, because most importantly, he fired GP and secondly, because he fired GP without letting GP's most loyal admirers dictate how it was done.

It isn’t all about South Carolina or Texas or A&M. It is about “me, myself, and I”. My late father always said Dutch (the real one) wouldn’t have gone to Notre Dame. All if the guys jumping since Fran had their own very selfish reasons. Not that there is anything wrong with that!

I think he was following orders.

Well, someone on here who claims to know it all said he went rogue, what that means.

I think that probably means he didn't follow GP's buddy's orders but what do I know. God forbid an AD fires a coach who not only loses, but pretty much loses control of his program.

I still don't like Hyman for running off Tubbs.

You’re only a stepping stone if you let yourself be one.
In reality, Dickey is a step up.
Donati was just a manager, Dickey is a builder.
…and he is very close to getting a 100% raise, wow!
