Most NCAA Power 5 colleges plan to reopen, the first step for football amid pandemic

By Jeff Wilson

An abundance of caution comes first for the California State University system, whose students across 23 campus will take the vast majority of their 2020 fall semester classes online.

The University of California schools are expected to follow suit, though they haven’t officially decided to do so amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Two of those UC schools are in the Pac-12 Conference, which is considering playing only conference football games to minimize travel and keep players safe if they even decide to play.

The Cali politicians are making sure that the PAC sits out this season.

A bold leap off the cliff of insanity.

Barely relevant now, on the verge of total collapse.

Better off without the PAC, makes the playoff easier and nobody watches their league anyway.

this could be a very interesting story as someone from either one of the pac schools or the pac conference office said that the schools will make their own decision separate of the government officials.

Yep. As much fun as it is to poke at Cali being in la la land on issues compared to the rest of the country, even a good chunk of the people are saying no to the Guv out there. The LA Mayor is getting the same response. The politicos out there have overstepped and people are pushing back.

The problem is they, or a like-minded replacement, will get re-elected anyway. So they are pushing back, but not that hard.

Maybe a silver lining in the end for us is that the PAC 12 will be in such an unrecoverable funk in the future that they'll be the fall apart conference in a few years instead of the Big 12..

As more time passes, more and more people are getting fed up. Yes there are always going to be the 24/7 doom and gloom chicken little die hards who worship these democrat politicians who want to stay locked down forever, but they represent a small fraction of the overall population. You have plenty of people in the middle who were OK with the initial wave of shutdowns to flatten the curve, but going on 2+ months now, I think many people are growing impatient, especially as states like Georgia are reopening and haven't gone through armageddon.

The thing is California has rigged their political process to where democrats will never lose a statewide election again. Any change will have to come at the more local level, like with that Republican congressman who won his race this past Tuesday by a decent margin. California democrats are betting on the fact that they are so popular statewide with voters, that they can basically do whatever they want. We'll see how that works.
