FWST: LPGA recognizes Stanford for taking life beyond par

Breaking a three-year victory drought on the LPGA Tour made the 2012 season memorable for Saginaw resident and former TCU golfer Angela Stanford.
But a series of off-course events, capped by the Angela Stanford Foundation's launch of a scholarship program to benefit college students whose lives are impacted by cancer, helped elevate the season to unprecedented in her estimation.
LPGA officials agreed, selecting Stanford as the inaugural recipient of the LPGA Tour's Kia Community Assist Award, which recognizes a player who makes exceptional contributions to charitable organizations or community programs. ...
