Patterson deserves a LOT of blame.

He did some great things early on, but his abrasive style with the players and media didn't end up with great recruiting or coaching. He would yell at everyone except the lousy coaches he refused to replace with better younger talent.

He got fired for being an [ Arschloch]. He was making $5 mil a year. Now he makes 150k. Deal with it.

TCU was bad the last few years. Because of Gary Patterson.

Um, why is it unfair to recognize that everything we are doing is undoing what had become so toxic, we fired our best coach ever.
People act like criticizing Gary somehow undoes all the he accomplished. He was an amazing HC for 15 plus years. He was a mediocre to poor HC the last 5 or so. It was time for change, mostly because Gary refused to do just that. Hiring someone similar to him would have been useless. We needed a very different atmosphere and we got just that. Time will tell if that translates to wins, and even if it doesn’t it was still the right move to let Gary go.
