FWST: Is a win over Oklahoma enough to salvage TCU’s season?

Pretty hard to FORCE any coach into such ideas. There will be NO firings this year. (pretty good source)
Esp if they're showing improvement and are.
And if he is like Gary in his blind devotion to poor quality assistants he will go the same way, too.

News to you dinosaur coaches: that’s not how it works anymore.

Right. Because of the way we played against a horrendous Baylor team, and one half against UT, we’re beating OU.

Makes sense.
Right because of how we played a few weeks ago with a new freshmen QB stepping in rather than going off the recent upward trend. OK.

I have nothing to go on objectively, but I feel a win coming in my gut over OU.

I know it was just a lousy Baylor. But if it was just the fact that Baylor was lousy, I think the score would have been a bit tighter. It really seems like 2nd half of the Texas game something has finally "clicked."

So if we do beat OU and get a chance to win a bowl game, given the "clicking" of the team, I don't know if I would say the season was salvaged, but I would say it had a happy ending and that we're set for next season.

Gotta tighten up the secondary. Baylor dropped or missed on at least 3 deep balls that could've gone to the house. Let's hope the Frogs are solid in all phases. Our toughest test of the year and on a short week, on the road, and an opponent that has hope of winning a conference championship.

If they hit those two early ones it is a much-different game.

Salvage the season? No. Stupid question anyway. A win over OU would, however, be a great way to end the regular season. Then a win in whichever second tier bowl against another underachieving team would put us on a much higher note than where we are right now…and that would be good. A winning season is better than a losing season, right?
Is it likely that we beat OU in Norman when they have so much riding on the game, too?
Not likely. But, if their QB is hurt and a few breaks fall our way this time, it is possible? Sure…and wouldn’t that be great?!!

GO FROGS!
BEAT THE LAND THIEVES!
Spit Blood ~~<~<and frogk baylor!!

We have outscored opponents 65-20 in the last 6 quarters of play.

Let’s keep the trend going.

And yes, a win against OU in their last Big XII game to keep them from the Big XII championship game would be a great way to end the regular season, and salvage a bowl game from a disappointing season.

Since I'm a big fan of compartmentalization, here is my success meter:

Fantastic Season: winning them all
Successful Season: winning all the games we are favored in and some of the ones we were not.
Predictable Season: winning all the games we are favored in and none of the games we were not
Pathetic Season: Losing any games we were favored to win.

Based on the above a win over OU still makes the season Pathetic.

So if we had gone 11-1 but lost to West Virginia or BYU, you’d consider that “pathetic”?

Damn.

I fear OU going to light us up- it’s a statement game for them. I may be there - OU friends taunting me with a ticket to go to the game with them. They all have a chip on them from last year. Happy Thanksgiving everybody!
