After getting cut by the Los Angeles Chargers in 2024, Max Duggan signed with the St Louis Battlehawks of the United Football League and took over the starting quarterback position.

How have the former TCU standout quarterback and the Battlehawks performed this season?

Duggan started the season backing up Manny Wilkins, who led the team to a 2-1 record before tearing the Achilles tendon in his right foot in a week four game against the Arlington Renegades, which cost him the season.

Max is not pretty throwing the ball. He is not accurate enough to impress NFL teams. His stats are not all that impressive.

However Max is a gritty player and he is a winner.

There is a local QB that is an NFL prototype but he has yet to prove to be a winner.

Unfortunately for Max, I fear that the NFL will still not give him a chance. As with the NFL draft they always pick beauty over substance because they can measure beauty.

Was I supposed to type something here?
I don't know about Max's desire to catch the ball or learn different positions, but seems like a Taysom Hill role would suit him.
He would be excellent in that role. Defenses would have fun trying to scheme for that...

Sadly, he just doesn't fit the mold of what the NFL believes a QB to be.
