Schlossnagle needs some media training. This is a horrible statement to make, especially at this time: "... but when you are little old TCU and you've been beaten down in many sports, multiple times and told you can never beat the big dog on the block and you finally do, there's some vindication in that."

He's addressing the attitude that many people in the state and the region already hold, so in my mind there's not any problem being direct about it. I'm sure the tone was smarmy enough to indicate that he himself doesn't believe it. Of course, print media may not capture that. But I do find it strange that out of all this good news, that's what jumped off the page to you...
