HOUSTON -- Garlon Green and TCU wanted to close with a win before heading into the Christmas break and an eight-day respite.

The Horned Frogs, led by Green's career-high 31 points, held off Rice 65-63 on Saturday night before a crowd of 1,549 at Tudor Fieldhouse.

Gore is a walk on, who won't contribute, I don't care what his ranking is, there are kids in the rec just as good as him. I say that but Zurcher and Montigel are both in the rotation, good for them. Montigel's dad is one hell of a man and a great golf coach at TCU. Happy for Garlon, had to be tough following in his older brothers footsteps. Sometimes you think you are automatically entitled to certain things, Green has tweaked his game every year, always in the gym. One of CJC's first recruits, hat's off to Garlon Green.
