Jason Coats hit a grand slam and Steven Maxwell gave up seven hits and a run in eight innings, leading visiting TCU to an 8-2 victory Sunday over Utah in Mountain West Conference baseball.

It was the Horned Frogs' fourth consecutive series sweep.

Bryan Holaday had two hits and two RBIs and Maxwell, who ran his record to 7-0, walked only one and struck out eight.

TCU is 34-19 for the season and 14-3 in the MWC. The Frogs' next game is the opener Friday of a three-game series at New Mexico.

UT sweeps Baylor

Three Texas pitchers combined on a four-hitter, leading the Longhorns to a 4-1 victory over visiting Baylor in Big 12 baseball.

Texas (38-7, 19-2) set a Big 12 record with its 17th consecutive conference victory, breaking a record Texas A&M set in 2008.

The Longhorns have won 20 consecutive games, tying a school record set in 1988.

Texas held Baylor (25-20, 7-12) to four runs in 33 innings during the series.

Brandon Workman gave up four hits and no earned runs in 52/3 innings. Stayton Thomas and Andrew McKirahan pitched hitless relief.

In a late game Saturday night, Jordan Weymouth's run-scoring single in the bottom of the 14th inning gave Texas a 2-1 victory.

Hoby Milner, a freshman from Fort Worth Paschal, earned the victory with four perfect innings of relief. He struck out four.

Oklahoma 15, Kansas State 11: Cody Reine and Max White hit three-run home runs, leading the Sooners (32-12, 10-9) over the visiting Wildcats (30-12, 10-7). Oklahoma scored five runs in the first inning and five more in the fourth.

Texas Tech 16, Missouri 15: Michael Reed had three hits and six RBIs, leading the host Red Raiders (26-22, 12-9) past the Tigers (23-19, 7-10). Tech scored six runs in the fourth inning.

Nebraska 1, Texas A&M 0: Tom Lemke pitched a five-hit shutout, leading the Cornhuskers (20-24, 7-14) over the visiting Aggies (25-17-1, 9-11-1). It was Lemke's second shutout of the season. Cade Thompson's home run provided the only run in the game.

Oklahoma State 5, Kansas 4: Luis Uribe hit a run-scoring single in the eighth inning, lifting the Cowboys (26-18, 7-11) over the Jayhawks (26-19-1, 7-10-1).

UTA romps

Jesse Payne went 5 for 5 with four RBIs, leading visiting UT-Arlington to a 19-4 victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Michael Choice had three hits and four RBIs for the Mavericks (23-22, 16-8 Southland) and Brian Nephew had four RBIs.

Big 12 softball

Texas beat Iowa State 10-2 to earn a share of the regular-season title. It is the first league championship for Texas (40-13, 13-2) since 2006.

Damn, I must have missed 10 more losses this season?!
