Frogs hold off Ole Miss on the road to win Big 12/SEC Challenge

Lauren Heard secured the late-game steal and propelled TCU to a 55-50 win over Ole Miss to win the Big12/SEC Challenge on Thursday night at The Pavilion.
“Sometimes you just have to win ugly and that was kind of how it went tonight,” TCU head coach Raegan Pebley said in a press release. “At the end we found a way. It was a collective effort by a lot of people. In a game like this there were a lot of key moments and key possessions. Whether it was Kianna (Ray) and Jayde (Woods) hitting free throws, the rebound at the end of the game by Lauren (Heard), Dakota (Vann) hitting a big three or Jordan (Moore) stepping up at the end. But Amy (Okonkwo) was a consistent threat for us all night. There were a lot of important, key figures in this game but we win as a team and this was a good team win.”
TCU (5-1) opened up with a 12-1 run and held the Lady Rebels (3-5) scoreless for the final 3:36 of the first quarter.
