Four takeaways from TCU football’s shocking upset to North Carolina in Dublin​

DUBLIN – TCU’s international season opener in Ireland ended in disaster as the Horned Frogs were upset 15-10 by Bill Belichick and North Carolina on Saturday.

The Horned Frogs (0-1) became the latest team to enter the Aer Lingus Classic as a heavy favorite (-7.5) only to be upset in Dublin. The performance was so surprising, it even caught head coach Sonny Dykes off-guard.

“Look, this is gonna be a football team. I have no doubt in my mind,” Dykes said. “We didn’t do a good job playing or coaching, and that falls on me. I have to do a better job preparing them. I thought this team was ready. I didn’t see any signs of this happening.”

Yep. Incompetent head coach was incompetent again, the FCS quarterback looked like an FCS quarterback, once again the defense delivered a good enough performance to win, and the offense wasted it, and Jeremy Payne is a beast. I have a good bet this will be a common theme all season long.
