Four-star Red Oak safety Warren Roberson flips from TCU to Texas

BY STEVEN JOHNSON

The move is finally official.

Former TCU safety commit Warren Roberson has flipped to the University of Texas. The four-star recruit from Red Oak announced on Tuesday morning he was signing with the Longhorns after being committed to the Horned Frogs since Halloween of last year.

Roberson was originally planning to announce his decision last Wednesday on National Signing Day, but the winter storm that hit the Dallas-Fort Worth area caused Roberson to delay until almost a week later.

SA Express News: "The late flip by Roberson was another big win for Texas, which has the nation’s third-ranked 2023 signing class, per the 247Sports composite rankings. The 6-foot and 180-pound Red Oak product is ranked No. 22 at safety and No. 47 in the state."

I'm happy for the kid. He put in the work and seems happy with his choice. TCU loaded up at his position and his contact with the school changed. His choice is not a surprise.
Leaves another spot for a nice portal lineman.

The kid is super talented and would have been a welcome addition to TCU. I feel certain that Kaz would have been able to teach him how to grow up and take advantage of his talent. However, it didn't happen, and the loss is his, not TCU's.
