The Dallas Cowboys knew why KaVontae Turpin was a bargain when they signed him as an undrafted free agent, because he comes attached with an invisible alarm clock that you can neither hear nor see.

You just know it’s there. That alarm went off, but do not expect the Cowboys to do much about this other than hit “snooze.”

Turpin, 28, was arrested in Allen on July 5 on charges of possession of marijuana and unlawfully carrying a weapon. According to Collin County records, he was jailed and released. These are two misdemeanor charges; his bond amount was $500 for the marijuana charge, and $1,000 for the weapon.

You can’t do the story on Turp’s latest arrest and ignore his history. Yep, that involves our TCU. At least Coach P gave him the boot when it became too much. Thats’s also part of the story.

I think Big Steaming Pile enjoys reporting these kinda stories. Hopefully for Turpin, this doesn't derail his career.

The solution to gun violence in this country is enforcing the gun laws that are already on the books. He should at least be watching the Cowboys returning punts from his jail cell for this and this alone.....

More Turpin details:

"
The 28-year-old was allegedly driving 97 mph in a 70 mph zone in Allen, Texas, per TMZ Sports.

Once police pulled Turpin over, they allegedly found an exposed 9mm pistol in the backseat of his 2022 Dodge and discovered there was marijuana in the center console. He was taken to jail but later released on bail."

Why don't these guys use drivers??? He just signed an $18 mil. deal. He's got the coin. Listen up athletes, if you're going to carry/do drugs, carry guns, go out drinking, whatever.....use a driver!!!!

Life in the fast lane. Young and wants to drive his Hemi Challenger or whatever 100 mph. I’m an old but I still like to drive my sporty car (prolly faster than I should.) But no drugs and gun is hidden.

I spent five years working as a chauffeur for one of the major transportation companies in North Texas. I learned that every NFL team has an arrangement with at least one local company to be available at any time to drive someone on the team. I never had the occasion to do one of those pickups but i did drive players from time to time and retired players as well. I also had the tough duty from time to time of driving some of the cheerleaders to functions! Hey, a guy has to provide for his family, right?

The only problem with the gun in the car in this stop was that he had an illegal drug in the car too. So this is an adder law against the misdemeanor drug possession charge.
