Dallas Cowboys sign former TCU running back to active roster

After the first round of waivers cleared at noon Central time on Monday, the NFL announced that the Dallas Cowboys had been awarded a claim on former TCU running back Emari Demercado, who will join the active roster.
The Cowboys will have to make a corresponding cut on Monday afternoon from their initial 53-man roster.
Demercado, 27, arrives in Dallas after failing to make the roster coming out of training camp with the Kansas City Chiefs. Signed as an undrafted free agent out of college, Demercado made the roster with the Arizona Cardinals as a rookie and played in 40 games across three seasons with the franchise. In his rookie season, he played under Cardinals offensive line coach Klayton Adams, who is now the offensive coordinator in Dallas.
