FWST: Costly turnovers leave Texas in early hole against TCU

AUSTIN -- The Texas Longhorns turned the ball over early and late, and it cost them.
The No. 16 Longhorns had turnovers on three of their first four possessions, plus another on their final drive against a swarming TCU defense in a disappointing loss on Thanksgiving night. It was uncharacteristic for Texas (8-3, 5-3 Big 12), which entered the game with zero giveaways in each of their last two outings.
TCU (7-4, 4-4) converted UT's miscues into 14 points to secure a 20-13 win at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. The Longhorns had allowed just 10 points off turnovers entering the game.
"You can't win a football game when you have four turnovers," Texas coach Mack Brown said. "We played so poorly on offense. Give TCU credit for that." ...
