FWST: Boykin shakes off sluggish first half

Saturday was a tale of two halves for the TCU offense and redshirt freshman quarterback Trevone Boykin.
The first was an anemic showing of 78 total yards, supported on the scoreboard by a Sam Carter interception and return to the Oklahoma 6 that set up a 6-yard Boykin touchdown run. The second was a turnaround effort, resulting in a final total of 350 yards for the Horned Frogs.
Boykin opened the game with 13 passing yards in the first quarter and added 21 in the second. The young quarterback led the team in carries in the first half and gained 8 of TCU's 44 total rushing yards.
On the Horned Frogs' second series of the third quarter, Boykin jumpstarted the TCU offense by hitting Brandon Carter for an 80-yard touchdown pass, and he would complete 2 of 3 passes the rest of the quarter for gains of 11 and 15 yards. Boykin capped his quarter with a 36-yard rush, his longest of the game, which set up a TCU field goal attempt that was ruled wide right. ...
