HOUSTON -- Andy Dalton might not ever want to come back home again.

The second-year Bengals quarterback, a native of Katy, had just as tough a time Saturday as he did at Reliant Stadium last season against the Texans. He still is waiting for his first playoff victory.

Dalton completed 14 of 30 passes for 127 yards with no touchdowns, an interception and a 44.7 passer rating in the Bengals' 19-13 loss. He went 27 of 42 for 257 yards with no touchdowns, three interceptions and a 51.4 passer rating in a 31-10 loss to the Texans in the wild-card round here last year.

"We are very disappointed," said Dalton, who makes his off-season home in Fort Worth. "We felt like we had taken a step forward this year, felt like coming in, we knew what to expect. Wish he would've hit at least one of those two deep throws for the end zone late. Guys dropping passes did not help. But AD seemed to be QUICKLY under pressure whenever back to pass. Bengals still need to address that offensive line.

The throw he missed down the middle into the endzone with about 3 minutes left was the killer. He had kept his team in position to win even though he wasn't stellar but he has to make that throw. If he connects on that one they take the lead. Those are the ones that define you as an NFL QB. Your either a star and champion or a very good player. The pressure on those guys is immense! I believe AD will become a star and champion.

Andy missed on a throw or two but his OL missed, or just got manhandled, on several dozen blocks.

Tough break for Andy to be drafted by the Bengals.

They're not far away. Get that offensive line beefed up and they can make a deeper run. I'm sometimes disappointed by Green and Gresham -- Andy's two top weapons. Andy can step it up, too. He will.
