‘No one comes to Texas for Fort Worth.’ SMU receiver Rashee Rice rips Fort Worth, TCU

Saturday’s football game between TCU and SMU will be the 100th meeting in the Iron Skillet rivalry, but with one player’s comments on Tuesday, he appeared to have jumped from out of the frying pan and into the fire.

“No one comes to Texas for Fort Worth. They come for Dallas,” Rashee Rice, a junior receiver at SMU, said about TCU’s home. And that was just a portion of what he had to say.

Typically, when it comes to commenting on opponents, players are often guarded heading into contests — especially rivalry matchups — for fear of providing the other side with bulletin-board material that can fuel a team or provide that little bit of extra incentive for players to silence the trash-talkers.

To be fair, Oswald was supposed to have an accomplice who was a Texas A&M grad. The aggie got confused with the instructions and ended up in the ER after he tried to figure out how to use a "book suppository."

Except for business, I'm not sure how many people actually do come to Texas for Dallas. I'd say Arlington is probably a bigger draw for travelers of leisure.

Before 2019, SMU fans (and players) were generally mum prior to this game...could have been because wins on their part were so rare....But I recall them talking a lot of trash in 2019, and apparently we didn't listen or believe them....They were confident enough to claim they would win....We were mentally unprepared....41-38, Mustangs, and the season was a shambles....Now here they are again, talking smack....Get ready, Frogs, it's gonna be bumpy....
