We've played a game on Thursday or Friday every year we've been in the Big 12 except maybe that COVID year, yet somehow people are always surprised when it happens again.

At least they're on real TV, not Vs. And in this case a road game in Arizona will be put in an 8ET kickoff slot whereas a Saturday fixture would likely end up at 10:30ET. Frog fans in the Eastern time zone who get up for church on a Sunday prefer Friday night games for road trips to the west. I've conducted a scientific poll.

Big 10 and ACC both play Friday night games. Exposure is better than crowded Saturday schedule and allows conferences to maximize tv revenues

Arizona does not observe Daylight Savings Time (good for them!). I don't think that works in our favor.

Actually rather large parts of it do - the Navajo Nation does, about the 15-20% of the state in the NE corner. But, Tempe does not, that's correct.
