The TCU Horned Frogs made a huge splash nationally in 2005 when they went to Norman and beat a top-10 ranked Oklahoma team 17-10.

Since then the Frogs have won conference titles, a Rose Bowl and become a national power.

But that might not have been the case without that victory.

"Looking back it was probably the jump start of what's happened since then," TCU head coach Gary Patterson said.

Seven years later the Frogs have another chance to make another splash against Oklahoma by capping a successful first season of Big 12 play by beating the Sooners again and dashing their Big 12 title hopes in the process. ...

I said it before the season and I'll say it again. The "backloading" of the schedule was a good thing for this young team, that we have always been better the second half of the season. In fact, wish we had Oklahoma later in the 2013 schedule than we do.

Anyone besides me think Frogs can run on OU? I watched their game with OSU Saturday, and Cowboys ran on them at will with Kendall Hunter doing lots of damage. Also know some Sooner fans who go to all their games, and they say that run defense is the weakest the've seen. Just looking for something to hang my hat on.

I think we're going to have to pass some to open up the run. They know we can run; they don't think we can pass. They'll be loading up to stop Tucker, Catalon, Dean and Boykin on the ground. If we hit them through the air enough to make them worry, then yeah, we can run on them.

I was at our game in Austin and drove to Norman to watch the OU game. Their defense against the run is very weak, but I think you have to make them respect the pass to make it work. They were so scared of the passing game, they were willing to give up large amounts of running yards. If we don't show that we can pass, they will stuff the box and we will get shut down.

A lot of people think we can run it on them. OU is giving up something like 170 yards per game on the ground.

Not as bad as UT, but bad nonetheless

OU's given up a ton of yards on the ground the past 3 weeks (201 vs. Ok State, 458 vs. WVU, and 252 vs. BU). All three opposing offenses are known for their ability to throw the ball all over the field, something we definitely can't do right now. I'm skeptical that we'll be able to run on them the way we did against UT.
