Former Frog Letterman Bobby Richardson Passes Away

Bobby was a former teammate of mine & played at TCU from 77-79. He lived in Pittsburg, Texas all his life.

I understand that he died of a massive heart attack. Prayers for the family of Bobby Richardson.

PITTSBURG - Bobby "Bobkat" Richardson, 51, of Pittsburg, died June 4, 2010 in Mount Vernon. Services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, June 7, at the First United Methodist Church of Pittsburg with Rev. Richard Heyduck officiating. Interment will follow at Macedonia Cemetery under the direction of the Erman Smith Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Jim Bayuk, Bobby Stuard, Mike DeWoody, Melvin Richardson, Thomas Matulis, and Pat McConaughey.

Mr. Richardson was born Feb. 9, 1959 in Pittsburg, to Loyd E. Richardson and Mattye Ruth Reynolds Richardson. He was a Pittsburg High School graduate and played football at TCU, where he graduated in 1981 with a BBA degree. He was the owner and general contractor for Paradise Gardens and Bobkat. He served on the Pittsburg school board for six years, and also served on the board of the Farm Bureau. He was also a youth baseball coach.

Survivors include spouse Jan Richardson of Pittsburg; two sons, Jake Richardson and Luke Richardson, both of Pittsburg; daughter Mattye Richardson of Pittsburg; brother and sister-in-law Jim and Anita Richardson of Pittsburg; sister Nancy Richardson of Longview; niece Autumn Kelley and nephew Trent Richardson.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
