Attention all college football players and agents. College football is terrified / paranoid about lawsuits.
The courts seem to have determined that "anything that impedes a person's ability to earn" is illegal. Given that, the possibilities for eligibility are endless.Attention all college football players and agents. College football is terrified / paranoid about lawsuits.
Let’s face it, the reason players are now paid huge sums of money, have no transfer restrictions, don’t go to class, etc, is because the NCAA, conference commissioners, college Presidents, athletic directors are terrified of lawsuits because they are spineless and don’t want to give the courts the opportunity to restructure them. The courts seem to have determined that "anything that impedes a person's ability to earn" is illegal. I don't have the disdain for the NCAA that some people do as I think people bark up the wrong tree (the NCAA) when they want to complain about stuff, but yeah, I agree. They've basically said we're done fighting, everyone do whatever the heck they want.Let’s face it, the reason payers are now paid huge sums of money, have no transfer restrictions, don’t go to class, etc, is because the NCAA, conference commissioners, college Presidents, athletic directors are terrified of lawsuits because they are spineless and don’t want to give the courts the opportunity to restructure them.
Agreed, the NCAA was at one time the Presidents’ proxy but the Presidents allowed that. It has changed but the Presidents still hide in the shadows.I don't have the disdain for the NCAA that some people do as I think people bark up the wrong tree (the NCAA) when they want to complain about stuff, but yeah, I agree. University Presidents have let money take over the sport. None of this stuff happens without their blessing. That's the way I see it anyway.
If you remember green stamps then you must be a boomer. How much is that in Green Stamps?
I remember at maybe age 5 going with my mom to the redemption store. She got a vacuum cleaner. Didn’t understand why she was handing over books of stamps instead of cash.If you remember green stamps then you must be a boomer.
Is this a surprise to anyone? Haven't seen much posted so that is probably not a good sign.National Signing Day. Not looking so good.
Ponies are doing better.
On Seminary Drive?I remember at maybe age 5 going with my mom to the redemption store. She got a vacuum cleaner. Didn’t understand why she was handing over books of stamps instead of cash.
didn't see a signing day thread. as you said ...Is this a surprise to anyone? Haven't seen much posted so that is probably not a good sign.
GP's last class was #54.didn't see a signing day thread. as you said ...
GP had us in the mid to near mid 20s often. So far today, I've seen 247 have us in the 43 to 45 range and ESPN has a buried with (correction) a 49.
Don't imagine anything changes this late in the day. The portal does not do that much to build depth and it's a gamble from year to year.
Possibly, don’t know.On Seminary Drive?
Hold on, gotta adjust the rabbit ears on my Zenith black & white TV….If you remember green stamps then you must be a boomer.
I helped mom stick those in books & we went to the Redemption Center. Quite the learning experience for a preachers kid (PK)—Redemption?I remember at maybe age 5 going with my mom to the redemption store.
I had a Zenith refrigerator at TCU. had the little ice box hanging down from the top. Got it out of my uncle’s barn, had to Bondo the door and put in new weatherstripping but it got us through.Hold on, gotta adjust the rabbit ears on my Zenith black & white TV….
We had one too. The rabbit ears had problems picking up channel 11 and it was broadcasting from Ft. Worth! I had to watch Bill Camfield as Icky Twerp and Gorgon.Hold on, gotta adjust the rabbit ears on my Zenith black & white TV….
predictable response from you. if you think highschool recruiting is overrated these days, it just shows you don't know jack.GP's last class was #54.
It's a new world. Unless we find a Cody Campbell of our own, I wouldn't expect any more classes in the 20's. And honestly, high school recruiting is overrated these days. Indiana's last three HS classes were ranked #68, #66 and #49.
It was. I've been there.Possibly, don’t know.
