This is where the rubber meets the road. If these front-end loaded multi-year NIL contracts are allowed to go thru for teams like Tech; then smaller schools like TCU will have little opportunity to legitimately compete.
If the College Sports Commission (CSC) truly has the power that conferences supposedly granted them, there is no way these deals can be legitimate endorsements at fair market price.

Why wouldn’t there be legal options. With the amount of money a guy can make playing college football I’d make a pretty big bet somebody’s going to file suit questioning the validity of 4 years of eligibility. Who decided that? Who continues to say that’s the rule? Why is it 4 years? Who determined what’s eligible to have a year not count? We couldn’t pay athletes or have NIL until lawsuits were filed and players won decisions. I’ll truly be shocked if there are no lawsuits over the number of seasons a player can play college football.
He would have to find a way to claim another injury year.

As far as potential loss if NIL etc as adverse effect:
contract law does not work that way. And they wouldn’t stand a chance in hell with a tortious interference claim. These were set rules with a known waiver process that he signed for when he committed his intent and registration through the NCAA.

NIL/Shared Revenue is a different tree.

What exactly did you expect him to say?
Looks Like Hoover will have some competition when he gets to IU. Fernando Mendoza’s little brother is a redshirt freshman, and Fernando said that he thinks his little brother will be the best QB in college football next year…
Kid is reportedly legit. Would be interesting to see what would happen if a qb competition puts Hoov on the bench. Indiana is a public university, but don’t know if the collective, which is managed elsewhere falls under that. So Hoov’s contract could be a complete unknown. They can’t do bonuses, but basing it on games played, etc is not bonus based.

My point was what would you expect Mendoza to say? My brother sucks? For all anyone knows he could be better better than Hoover. We’ll find out soon enough

This will be Alberto M.'s 3rd year in the program. Would love to see him give Hoover hell. Wish we could've seen AM last night. But Cig was hungry to hang half a hunert on the Ducks. He's lucky FM wasn't hurt. In fourth quarter and the game decided, and driving for another score, FM ran toward the goal line and took a shot to his throwing shoulder. Could've ended their title hopes right there.

Colorado DB TEON PARKS is on campus now talking with coaches.
His 2025 season grades out worse than JaTravis Broughton for TCU in 2024,
so I hope nothing comes from the visit.

That’s interesting - he has great high school stats and championships and his Indiana stats, though very limited in mop-up reps, are excellent, passing and running. He also knows that offense inside and out as Fernando’s tutor and next year will be his third year at Hoosier. Appears Hoover may have taken on a tough task - give Hoov credit.

Indiana football's Alberto Mendoza: Who is Fernando's backup, brother
