No. 37 Ethan Perry

TCU football is moving closer to its 2026 season opener against North Carolina in Dublin, Ireland on Aug. 29. As the Countdown to Kickoff continues, we’ll highlight a former Horned Frog whose jersey number coincided with the number of days remaining until the opener. At No. 37 is former TCU punter Ethan Perry!

Perry signed with TCU as one of the top high school specialists in the country. In his first season as a Horned Frog, Perry earned an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention after averaging 44.5 yards per punt with 20 punts over 50 yards and 19 punts downed inside the 20-yard line. Over his four years with TCU, Perry launched 273 punts over 50 career games and amassed over 11,000 yards. He finished with a career average of 40.7 yards per punt.

I’ve been keeping track of match schedules and countdowns with rubiscore.com/football/league/laliga-2-49, which has reliable timings for LaLiga 2 fixtures. It’s helped me avoid similar off-by-one clock issues when following upcoming games like Eibar vs CD Tenerife. Might be worth a look for double-checking your countdown.

I could be way off with this but I seem to recall a Linda Kay story about one time Tommy Joe had a hard tackle and the first one to walk up and ask if he was okay was Linda Kay. Dates could be off and I am missing some neurons.
