I believe that only NIL collectives will be affected. Athletes will still be free to have NIL agreements with individual entities, i.e the recently announced affiliation with PayPal by Olivia Miles
Only as pre-approved by the college sports commission per their rules (as I read it).

Now college sports are an even bigger sh show than they were before. And boosters will still line up to offload dump trucks full of cash to players behind the scenes.

They're trying to make it so the players get their own nil deals with no collectives anymore. Now teams will just have to work harder finding deals for their players.

Approving players nil deals? How long is that going to take? What kind of army is the ncaa (or whatever body) going to have to make sure these approvals are done in a timely fashion?? As per anything the ncaa is involved with, its a straight up cluster.

It’s called the College Sports Commission. Players have to get pre-approval on all NIL deals through this commission. Here are some details. Might be helpful to read this.

Absent legislation or collective bargaining there's just about zero chance this is legal right? A commission trying to gatekeep how people make outside money is what the Supreme Court ruled against that began this whole thing.

Well, of course the CSC claims they will enforce this. We will see but that is the key. They are talking about post season bans, multi-million dollar fines, suspensions, etc. but it remains to be seen. One thing to consider on NIL is that the process has to be initiated by the player, who fills out a form for CSC proposing an NIL opportunity. CSC can approve or deny. I would assume that in the application process there would be language the player would have to agree to in order to complete the application.

Once again, the NCAA and our proud elected officials leave it all to be interpreted however you like. “We’ll do what we want, and if you don’t like it you can go pound sand. We’ll see you in court!” Quite honestly, I hope the whole scheissing thing goes broke!…

Was I supposed to type something here?

The first time they try enforcement, they'll wind up in Court. It'll drag on for years, and the whole thing will go even further off the rails.
