Yes wonderful. We rallied to beat a 2 win team (no P5 wins) in the 4th quarter, and padded it with a garbage time score. If that helps you look past the horrific things Kendall did, it says more about your character than the people you're responding to.
I said before the season. Every game except ACU is going to be a toss up. You should not be surprised.

Not surprised, honestly don't think it's all that relevant. We could have won 70-3 and it wouldn't justify having him anywhere near our campus. It's just made worse by the fact that he's not that good, and people are willing to excuse his awfulness for such a mediocre product.

We haven’t had a good offensive line in years. Why can’t Briles devise a game plan around what we do have?
That is exactly what you are looking at.
Our OL is horrible, but it grades out much better at pass blocking than run blocking. In addition, K. Barnes is the only back we have that can navigate the minuscule running lanes this OL creates, and he is also our best pass blocking RB by far.
Resultantly we are a 60/40 passing team, and even more so if Barnes is out.

TCU has the #12 ranked passing/quick strike offense in the country.

The flip side of that is our D becomes very challenged when they are on the field 60% of the time, as they were against ASU.

Did you or anyone say before the season that we would once again be putrid running the ball and that every defensive front except ACU would be living in our backfield on every pass play, because I don't recall that being the expectation at all. I know we're not going destroy every team we play, but this rushing attack and offensive line SUCKS and it isn't a new problem.

Our hurry-up offense exposes our D every game - not just the ASU game.

There are periods in every game (did not watch ACU so.....) where our offense sputters for a couple of drives with multiple 3 and outs or get a first down and then a quick 3 and out. It wears out our D every game. It will come back on us again. It seems like our fast-paced offense wears out our D more than the opposing team's D.

Precisely why I said pretty much every game would be a toss-up. Jury out on our OL. If things don't improve in the back half of the season, I'd be disappointed if there wasn't some change. But let's not kid ourselves either. Also need to spend more money on personnel there.

I certainly expected them to suck and I’m sure others did too.
Just look at it. Almost none of these players are qualified to start on any Power conference team.

- Our starting Center, Deery, transferred from Maryland after 1 year, & Maryland is the only Power conference team that has ever offered him
- Our R Guard, Bruno, transferred from Louisiana Tech after 3 years, and has never had a Power conference team offer.
- Our L Guard, Bennet, played in only 2 games at Okie Lite; then transferred to SD State where he did achieve 2nd Team All Mtn. West
- Our R Tackle, Taylor-Whitfield, is a Junior TCU signing by Ricker that did not have any FBS offers other than TCU.
- Our L Tackle, Hughes, is a very inexperienced Freshman signed by Ricker.

At the Power level, this line has disaster written all over it!

To make matters worse, for the 2nd year in a row, TCU waited until the last minute to recruit a big RB from the portal. Barnes is decent when healthy, but he’s injured most of the time and was also mostly injured while at UTSA.

Once Barnes and McAlister entered the game our offense picked up. Those two are so valuable to the team. Any OC can look good or bad depending on whether or not those tow are playing.
Colorado is not a bad team by any stretch. They have been in every game this season. Just a few plays away from being undefeated.
Colorado won’t finish in the top half of the conference - they are a below avg b12 team

Yeah - I mean 35 points against basically the worst D in D1 and having a +4 turnover advantage - man that seems like a great resume….
Realistically it should have been 42 points. But 35 is still good against the 91st rated Colorado D that is giving up 24.8 points per game.

Said a cliffs notes version of this to a friend last night. Has to call a game based on what he knows about his team. Barnes playing was so dang critical…just the simple fact that he could fall forward for 2-3 yards, and CU had to take notice. I contend if we even tried to run in the 2H vs ASU we would have held on for the W.

Yeah, Tech is showing what money can do for you in the new era. We don't have that sort of cash. Maybe this is the best TCU football can be at this point.

We've been complaining about the OC for 30 years, except a few years here and there .. ask some of the older posters about OC Schultz and the short-side option ... It's the prerogative for every fan base.
Exactly! People have been complaining about the offense going back to the Sullivan era. Most of the complaining has mostly been about not being able to score more or win a shoot out when we don’t have much of a defense.

I will say that I’m a bit disappointed in the offense line. Unless the offensive line drastically improves, I do hope the offensive line coach is fired at the end of the season. This is probably the worst team I’ve seen running the ball in over 30 years. Hoover has also been under too much pressure the last two games.
