Why does this man try to run up the middle on damn near every first down when we don’t have the offensive line to make holes for the ball carrier?

I don't think it really matters where you run it without an offensive line, but Barnes seemed to get the most yards running between the tackles.

We were plus four in turnovers and barely won because this offense either scores in under two minutes or punts in under twenty seconds. This is what Johnny Tape-fingers' offense was in year one. It is what it was last year. It is going to be this way every year.
You can only win against less talented and even worse coached teams this way. We have more talent than most of the Big 12. We might go 8-4, but we'll huff and puff in a pass-only offense to win those games, and we will get destroyed up front in the ones we lose.
Briles sucks. It's not personal. My opinion that he is gross and we shouldn't have hired him is personal. The uselessness of this run game and pass protection is an objective fact.

We haven’t had a good offensive line in years. Why can’t Briles devise a game plan around what we do have?

The only positive was Hoover finally running a little more on the run option to keep the defenses honest. He did this more in the second half. IF he would do that more often like Duggan used to then our running backs lanes will open up more.
If only he could figure out a way to score 35 on Colorado.

We've been complaining about the OC for 30 years, except a few years here and there .. ask some of the older posters about OC Schultz and the short-side option ... It's the prerogative for every fan base.

Yes wonderful. We rallied to beat a 2 win team (no P5 wins) in the 4th quarter, and padded it with a garbage time score. If that helps you look past the horrific things Kendall did, it says more about your character than the people you're responding to.

We couldn't run for 100 yards or keep Hoover clean against a team that is unlikely to go .500 overall and is nowhere being a contender in the conference. It is possible to win games in ways that are alarmingly unconvincing, wouldn't you agree? Or is any win by any score against any team earned in any way possible always and only an indication that everything is fine?

Once Barnes and McAlister entered the game our offense picked up. Those two are so valuable to the team. Any OC can look good or bad depending on whether or not those two are playing.
Colorado is not a bad team by any stretch. They have been in every game this season. Just a few plays away from being undefeated.
