TCU Football: Can Horned Frogs finally level up?

by Justin Dottavio

TCU football has been a thorn in the side of the giants of the Big 12 for years. But can the Horned Frogs level up and become the giant?

In 1938 Texas Christian University’s football program finished the season 11-0 with a Sugar Bowl victory to boot in their consensus national championship season. That squad was led by Dutch Meyer as the Horned Frogs tore through the now-defunct Southwest Conference. Coach Meyer stayed at TCU through the good times and bad winning 109 games from 1934-1952.

Counting WVa as an easy win is ludicrous. Same with SMU, due to the berserker attitude they have against us.

This. Our record in Morgantown as B12 mates might be 2-1, but we have a combined -21 point differential. The two wins could easily have gone the other way. One came on a two-point conversation in double overtime (a game which only got to OT after a 94 yard TD pass with under two minutes left) and the other on a last second field goal to win by 1 (where we needed to rally from down 9 in the 4th quarter).

It’s always a battle up there, and I have no doubt this will be one of the hardest games of the season, especially if Grier is healthy.
