Fanrag: Chargers Activate Jason Verrett Off PUP List

Jason Verrett will begin work for the Los Angeles Chargers on Friday. The team activated the Pro Bowl cornerback after he’d resided on the Active/PUP list throughout the first week of training camp.
The Chargers’ final San Diego season mostly unfolded without Verrett. The former first-round pick suffered a partially torn ACL in early October and missed the rest of the 2016 campaign. He underwent ACL surgery and rehabbed to return to action.
Verrett did not encounter any setbacks in his rehab recovery, and today’s step will position him to be in uniform for the Bolts’ 2017 debut in Denver on “Monday Night Football.” The Chargers will be anxious to reform the Verrett-Casey Hayward tandem after Hayward’s best season landed him in the Pro Bowl.
