Let’s not forget where our Offensive Coordinator came from, and what his history is.
SAMMIS THROWS THE BALL AS MUCH AS BRILES.

Eight brought this up with me earlier today. Look at the quiz below:

- Which is the stat line for the quarterback in a pro-style offense prioritizing balance, efficiency, and a physical run game and which which is in a high tempo spread emphasizing speed, spacing, and creating big plays?

272 out of 413, 65.9%, 3,472 yards, 29 tds, 8.4 ypa, and 12.8 ypc.

285 out of 413, 69%, 3,448 yards, 28 tds, 8.3 ypa, and 12.1 ypc.

The top one is Hoover - TCU 2025 - OC: Kendall Briles
The bottom one is Fagnano - U Conn. 2025 - OC: Gordon Sammis

The only real difference is the Sammis coached team only threw 1 interception for the entire season.
I think you just pointed out what SD got at in a way better way than I could. I think. lol. It seemed like he was talking about balance. being able to run the ball, control the clock. and become more of a downfield passing team than we have been. plus, when you run the ball well, less pressure on the qb and less turnovers.
I'm trying to find that video again. SD mentioned what you did. Especially about the turnovers.

Also, the theme song from Young Guns came on in the background.
Also, I need a sports jacket in that color. I think I can make that work with a silver belly hat. lol.

Today was the 8th practice, and It’s still being reported that Jaden Craig has only thrown 1 Int., and that was to Fields back in the 3rd practice.

They practiced in helmets and shorts today with no hitting, because tomorrow night is the Frogs first scrimmage.
Dykes post practice presser had him saying something about this beeng the deepest team they've had.

Starting about the 13:30 mark, it's a good listen. SD talks about his job to look out for the good of the program. Some reality and an approach that i think many of us are happy to hear.
Coach SD and Coach Swinney have been pretty vocal about this.

Here:

I believe we will see a major difference with a veteran OL that averages 6’-5 317 lbs. There’s likely only one underclassman in the starting 5. Adding McKinney inside was a huge improvement. He would have been our best OL in ‘25. Adding Buchanon (2nd Team All-CUSA), who plays both guard & center, also appears to be a great add. It’s been a while since TCU has had a legitimate 10 deep OL, and these guys are actually creating running lanes in camp.
Jaden Craig 6’-3 225 is much bigger & faster than Hoover. He can run to extend & create plays.
Jeremy Payne is now experienced and he only needs small openings to clear the front line.
Jon Denman is also now experienced…and Denman no longer weighs 193, he’s a 215 lb. load.

This should be a great ball control offense that doesn’t make excessive penalties and turnovers.
I don’t see this team folding like a cheap suit in the 2nd half, as we did vs. Az. St., K. St., & Ia. St. last year.

I can’t post the tweets for some reason, but it sounds like the offense won the night, minus the last series. Craig looks sharp, Schobel had some good moments, and Daulton took a step forward.
