No one seems to have any clue how this team will do. I think the pieces are there in a lot of areas but Hoover's ceiling isn't that high. If the o-line struggles the whole team could struggle.

Actually, I didn't feel any better about the 2022 team in mid-August than I do about this team. Chandler Morris had beaten out Max Duggan and there were some question marks then, as now. There will be some surprises with these 18–22-year-olds, good or bad or in between.

This is basically how I feel at this point with each position:

High confidence: LB, WR
Moderate confidence: RB, S, TE, P/K
On the fence: QB, Edge
Pessimistic: IDL, CB, PR/KR
Low confidence: OL

He's right. They're right. We cost our conference the chance at the big shot if we stumble late.
Yes, they’re right.
When fully 1/3 of your games are walkover wins, it inflates your ranking quite nicely.

However, it’s sad for schools to actively work at weakening the quality of their games, while raising fan ticket prices every year to obscene levels.…..and with 7-8 home games, due to the weakened schedule, they can charge those obscene prices more often.

This may not be a championship contender, but I really appreciate the job that the coaching staff has done this offseason.
This team has some really good young talent that should make them much more competitive than last year, and appears to be headed in the right direction for potential future championships. Enjoy!

I feel like Sonny knows that coming into a year after we followed a national championship game appearance with a sub-500 faceplant there's really nothing he can say. He seems relaxed but it's that because he knows he has a good team, because he's just naturally calm, or because he knows words are empty at this point?

Becuase he's not the guy. He's never had any sustained success at any of his stops.

55% career winning percentage proves it.
