Joe Burrows was a 3 star. This is the 2020 draft first round with the rival rankings, several 2 and 3 star rankings. Would I rather have 4 and 5 star players - sure, but a roster loaded with 3 star players should be just fine.

To be fair. Gilbert was 2-8 passing, 8 yards and 2 INTs in that final game. Woof. Nobody was having fun on the field or in the stands. I'm sure the West Side would've let him know about it too.

I think he has a better throwing motion than Ewers who seems to really have a side arm type delivery most of the time.

As you, and The Bad Guy say, taking the money cannot be argued as a bad choice, considering...

Additionally, as The Bad Guy notes, preserving and growing that money is important, and a bit of wisdom often lost on damned near everybody. TCU has, at least, made a step in the right direction with the Neeley School. One hopes that this sole (for now) beacon attracts the right kind of kids, kids who wish to make the most of a bold opportunity and see it last for a long time.

And if you still need to close the deal….have LT just casually drop into class un-announced mid-lecture, slowly/malevolently walk half-speed up the student cathedral rows, decked out in tailored Brooks Brothers suit with purple trim, till he reaches our “boy”, picks up his notepad from quivering hands, looks it over, little head shakes:

“NIL? Get that TCU degree. That’s your real ride for life.”

Swish, slow-burn turn back down to the front, whispered words & knowing wink to the business professor & out the door without another word. Door closes, prof turns back gaze to class, narrows eyes to our boy.
