6. Non-national seed with best chance to win it all: TCU
The Horned Frogs were in consideration for a national seed, but their RPI was weakened by six games (and two losses) against Air Force. The pitching staff is in the top 10 in the country with a 3.54 ERA, with all three weekend starters bettering that mark. TCU's offense is just as good, ranking in the top 20 in the country in scoring (8.8 runs per game), batting average (.343) and slugging percentage (.565).

The regional draw isn't too bad for TCU; Baylor got hot down the stretch to move up to a No. 2 seed, while Arizona lost its last six series (including sets against Cal State Bakersfield and USC) to drop from contention for a No. 1 seed. A possible super regional matchup at Texas would be a tougher test for the Horned Frogs, but they narrowly lost in three games during last year's Austin Super Regional. Add in the chance for a regional upset in Austin -- possible given Rice's offense and Louisiana-Lafayette's pitching -- and TCU could host a super regional for the first time.
