ESPN Rumors

BrewingFrog

Was I supposed to type something here?
So what gives? Why is ESPN floating "rumors" anyway? More like "sending up a trial balloon" to gauge the reaction.

ESPN is not an impartial outsider in this, they are an active participant if not the driving force altogether. I believe there is a great deal of pushing and prodding being done by ESPN that we will never be aware of and it deeply annoys me to see them keeping their mantle of innocent bystander.

ESPN delenda est!

We are going to win national championships as a non AQ.

That's all I really care about. I wouldn't be getting any of the money anyway. I just want TCU to be on a level playing field. This season could be huge for proving if a non AQ can ever go to the MNC. Time will tell...

I wish you were joking.

I'm surprised Louisville doesn't come up more often in Big 12 expansion rumors. Their football team will probably be back to competing again soon, and basketball alone could make them a valuable commodity. Also, expanding the conference's footprint is key. I don't know about Memphis. Third most popular school in their own state (by a lot), never had much success in football, basketball hasn't been good for awhile. But $10 million is $10 million. FedEx won't provide that forever, but UT, OU, and A&M are clearly in this for the short haul.

Why would Louisville want in the Big 12-2? What do they get out of it? They already got an AQ. The only schools that would want in the Big 12-2 are schools are schools that don't have an AQ. UH, UL-LA, UNM, Tulsa, etc. UT would probably invite SMU into the conference before us....just to screw us. We have a stranglehold on SMU right now. June will cometh and June will passeth without that changing. Put them in the Big 12-2 and the playing field gets more level.

Info on this board, quotes from a Smoo Blog thingy, have around six of the starters out for academic reasons. Taken with an entire salt-lick (no grain of salt here).

I'm holding out for the SEC!
