Exactly. Imagine how poor he would be with U Conn's players.Ironic given Briles could only score on basement dwelling FCS and big 12 teams
Absolutely got exposed against KSU and ISU every time

Mich better chance to make CFP I would think.Speaking of Mora that seems a curious move for him. Back-to-back 9-win seasons, does not appear he was forced out, and is reportedly taking less money to go to CSU, which is set to join the downgraded Pac-12.
Many thanks for the insight. Go Huskies except for when you are playing TCU.UConn fan chiming in here:
First off, I’m thrilled for Sammis, I figured he was off to CSU, did not expect him to get this gig. Sammis has done wonders with the O Line: consistently good, always working as a unit, guy can coach up any OLinemen. Now that he has access to serious talent? The O Line is going to move people.
His run game is awesome, zone scheme & trying to find a gap to hit a house call. When it’s rolling, it’s damn near unstoppable. It’s sort of what we see with Shannahan in SF, get wide then find a crease & 88 out the gate. Sometimes I think Sammis went away from it too much, just constantly chews up yardage.
The Big 3 from UConn (QB, WR, RB) all put up career numbers under him. He does a good job of getting his playmakers the ball in space & let them make a play. Skyler Bell was getting catches every game, hate when OC just don’t get your top guys involved, Sammis does that.
The QB & WR both graduate, but RB edwards just hit the portal, curious if he’ll come with. I love Edwards, he’s so so good. Sammis isn’t perfect, he has some head scratching plays at certain times but he’ll have way more talent & should do well. Uconn could’ve kept him if they made him head coach but too big of a risk for that currently. On the rise tho, I’m Pulling for him.
Had almost always been a west coast guy other than his stint in Atlanta and an older guy on the back end of his career (hard to believe he is 64!) who surely doesn't need the money, might have just wanted to get out of the northeast.Mich better chance to make CFP I would think.
The previous OC is now the highest paid OC in the country. Obviously he was not good at his job. LOLOL.Upon reading about this new fellow, Sammis, I am cautiously optimistic. It seems that Sonny has found a fellow who excels at 1.) Instruction, in that his players fully understand what he wants them to do, 2.) Motivation, in that players perform at the top of their abilities, and 3.) Evaluation, in that he has the gift of understanding the strengths and weaknesses of players, and puts them in positions where their strengths can shine.
Compared to the previous OC, this guy sounds like Just What The Doctor Ordered, because those points noted above were exactly what was missing.
Sammis bringing his RB with him??
most of that crowd felt it was only ok to bad mouth the hall of fame coach who built this program. and usually in passive agressive fashion. If this proves true at TCU we'll have a few smart-arse gits around here who need to eat humble pie for all the "it's not coaching we just don't have the players" lectures we've been getting the last three years. We probably don't have that many good offensive linemen at the moment, but they're also obviously not well coached. Here's hoping that ends now.
his results when it mattered are what they are. the tapefingers conference record was just awesome. (extreme sarc)The previous OC is now the highest paid OC in the country. Obviously he was not good at his job. LOLOL.
next legit question: what's it like to go to watch college football in a place where there is cool college football weather most of the season?I’m not sure if Cam is planning to go back to UConn (he’s from CT), go to CSU with Mora, or TCU with Sammis. But the kid is legit, he’ll be on an NFL roster I think. Not the fastest back ever, but he runs so dang hard, always falling forward. He’d be a nice get as part of the RB rotation if he follows Sammis. He won’t put up those types of numbers since he’d prolly split carries but he can definitely play.
I think any realist would say Briles was a good OC, but like a lot of the time, sometimes change is a good thing for both parties. The previous OC is now the highest paid OC in the country. Obviously he was not good at his job. LOLOL.
I grew up in New England, watching Tom Brady in his prime & the height of what UConn football was. I always viewed football as a cold weather sport, it wasn’t until I really got into the national scene of CFB that I saw it was a warm weather game in places. Love cold weather ball, especially in the NFL. Level of toughness you need to play in it.next legit question: what's it like to go to watch college football in a place where there is cool college football weather most of the season?
He had the same record as our Defensive Coordinator. Why does nobody want to run him off?his results when it mattered are what they are. the tapefingers conference record was just awesome. (extreme sarc)
turns out he's not the highest paid OC in the country. The previous OC is now the highest paid OC in the country. Obviously he was not good at his job. LOLOL.

Right he did what he did to beat mediocre at best teams. Can he do it at the next level? I certainly hope so . CD
We should all have an agent that good. The previous OC is now the highest paid OC in the country. Obviously he was not good at his job. LOLOL.
Maybe he and Sarkisian share an agent. We should all have an agent that good.
