ESPN Hemorrhaging

Well sure. But many on here seem to equate the political issues as the main reasoning and that is just not the case whatsoever.

I found it an interesting article. I also found it interesting ESPN won’t release their figures for ESPN+ but say it’s doing better than expected...I refuse to believe that. If that were true, why not release the figures? That or they didn’t have a very high bar to leap from the beginning in their minds.

I’m not too surprised ESPN won’t release ESPN+ numbers.

Netflix is supposedly very protective of their numbers, too.

If you ever come across them FBallFan, would you kindly post them. I’m very interested in that. I think ESPN+ is just a horrible idea for them considering the content they’ve populated it with currently.

Started watching Get Up in the mornings. Jalen Rose is fantastic on that show

can not or will not watch anything with mike greenberg on it. not a big fan of him even when he was with golic (who i don't love as well) and greenberg reminds me way too much of my sister's ex-husband

Yea, remember how incensed he got during the 2014 playoff controversy, I mean red faced spitting kind of stuff toward TCU for having the temerity to be upset over the last week 3 to 6 drop.

Wonder what ESPN’s bottom line would look like without this albatross hanging around it’s neck?

interesting question though i think espn went into the network knowing it might lose money. i think it was a trial balloon to just how specialized a channel they could broadcast and still be profitable.

texas was the perfect shill, i mean partner as they have one of thee most myopic fanbases in the country.

As a business owner, I NEVER go into a deal thinking it "might lose money".

Not calling you out 8. But espn always thought this was a homerun and would make $$$. You don't throw $15 million/year at a trial balloon. But it has been an epic failure. And I love the fresh smell of ut failure living here in the atx.

maybe they were certain it was going to be a hit and maybe they were certain they could force the channel down the throat of the people buying their products.

it was/is the perfect marriage of hubris from a network and an institution.

i wasn't inferring the lhn is/was some type of loss leader for espn. simply that they had an idea what a conference channel would generate, the next step was individual teams and they could afford the gamble. heck, they committed to spend just under the $15M for salaries of their 3 co-host for that abomination, get up, and that is running a fraction of the time compared to the lhn.

Did he give out the name of the next Avengers movie?

The New York Post, citing "sources," was the first to report that ESPN looked into the allegations and determined that Adnan Virk didn't fully cooperate with the internal investigation.

The Post reported, "Virk was escorted off the Bristol campus (on Friday). The specific nature of the information Virk chose to share is unknown at this time."

ESPN spokesperson Josh Krulewitz confirmed to USA TODAY Sports on Sunday that Virk "no longer works at ESPN."
